August is almost here and we all know what that means! We better make the most of what’s left of the summer before we send the kids back to school. Check below for some great Preble County events that you don’t want to miss this August!
The Famous Preble County Fair
When: July 30th – August 6th
Where: Preble County Fairgrounds
722 S Franklin St, Eaton, OH 45320
This is an event that residents of Preble county look forward to every year. Be sure to visit the 166th annual Preble County Fair July 30th – August 6th. Check out all the animals, grab some cotton candy and ride a few rides. There is plenty of fun to be had all week. The rodeo will be on August 1st, tractor pull on August 4th, and the demolition derby will be on Sat. August 6th. For more information about the fair check out the Preble County Fair Facebook page.
US Route 127 Yard Sales
When: August 4th- 7th
Where: Throughout Preble County along US Rt. 127
Often referred to as the World’s Longest Garage Sale, the US 127 Yard Sale runs from Michigan to Alabama. Lucky for us, US 127 runs right through the heart of Preble County bringing visitors to the area, and a chance to clear your clutter or find a great bargain.
Union Center Food Truck Rally
When: August 12th
Where: 9285 CenterPoint Dr. West Chester Township
If you are up for a little drive, this event is worth checking out. Food trucks from all over the Southwest Ohio area, live entertainment and beer and wine. Great time for all ages. Free admission. Family friendly!
Lewisburg Derby Days
When: 18th-20th
The Derby Days festival in Lewisburg, Ohio features an annual soap box derby race for children 14 and younger as well as food, vendors, rides, games, a car show and fireworks.

Reading in the Creek

Where: Garber Nature Center, Lewisburg
